Hello!

I’m Alexis, and I love words. Writing them, reading them and – especially – wrestling them into shape.

If you are an author – non-fiction or fiction – and want (or need!) a helping hand to get your manuscript into shape, I’d love to work with you. I’m a light touch editor – I’ll respect your voice and vision, while helping you with anything from structure, to tone of voice, to fact checking and bibliographies.

If necessary, I can help you with translating specialist jargon into language that a non-specialist audience can understand. I’m used to working with technical subject matter in a wide range of disciplines, and can help you with background research.

I copy-edit and proofread for academic publishers, law firms, non-profits, authors and postgraduates. I fact check terminology and correct citations and bibliographies in all of the commonly used reference styles.

As well as working with authors, my client list includes City law firms, multinational corporations, charities and non-profits, small businesses and startups. I write and edit newsletters, marketing materials and complete websites.

I’m a bit of a technology nerd and am constantly teaching myself new skills. I’m proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and work with clients on logo and web design, animations and print design. I’ve coded websites from scratch in html/css using Dreamweaver, as well as building them in WordPress and bespoke CMS systems. And I manage social media campaigns.

So, why not get in touch for a chat about how we can work together?

My previous websites have been built from scratch in html, using Dreamweaver. This time, I’ve gone with Squarespace… and I’m still building it, so check back for updates!
